ARTCHA - A founding member of 3Me
(Three Musketeer Entertainment)
Artcha discovered he had a love of music at the
tender age of 8 with musical influences such as Aretha Franklin,
Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. This artist from North London
is no stranger to the music industry and from the age of 17 the
young talent begun to perfect his craft writing verses and building
his confidence as a performer. Since then, Artcha has continued
to excel, accredited in his own right for his achievements. As an
original member of the One Crew which launched promising stars such
as Sway, Pyrelli and Mr Ti2bs, Artcha has been noted as coming from
“a solid hip hop background” (RWD Magazine Jan. 2007)
with a wealth of experience. In March 2003 Artcha won the Home-Grown
Cuts competition on Radio 1 Xtra for the track ‘N.O.M.A.D’
with 48% of the public vote, demonstrating the ‘buzz’
surrounding the young rapper. In 2004 Artcha was also honoured to
be chosen to represent the UK in BET’s Global Hip Hop search.
This opportunity gained him even more respect and credibility.
By the end of 2005 a chance meeting with the independent record
label, The Schizofreniks saw the beginning of his largest project:
Therapy Sessions - an eclectic album which provides a variety of
musical genres demonstrating the artist’s fearless ability
to be diverse and appeal to a wide range of audiences.
An exciting and vibrant performer, Artcha has done shows around
the country from top West End venues to large festivals like Notting
Hill Carnival. His most recent performances have included the Love
Music Hate Racism Tour in Essex, the Martin Luther King Birthday
Celebration in Peterborough, where he continued to keep audiences
entertained. Artcha’s hard work and humility have also gained
him respect and admiration from DJs and industry peers alike, Touch
magazine quotes, “Artcha’s music could be seen as reflective
of….life, emotions, thoughts and the contradictions within
all the above…..lets hope he’ll be sticking around to
provide us with a little more music therapy” (Oct. 2006).
The success of Therapy Sessions so far has also been reflected
as Artcha’s music receives a positive radio response. ‘The
Hype’ has received frequent rotation on the Jenny Francis
show and tracks such as ‘Wow Wow’ and ‘Alter Ego’
have also been play listed on DJ 279’s critically acclaimed
Friday Night Flava’s (Choice FM 96.9). Artcha’s work
can also be heard on a variety stations across the country including
Radio 1 Xtra, Xtreme, Kiss and Sweet FM. Artcha’s single ‘Fatal
Beauty’ was ranked number 2 in the Overplay Hip Hop Charts
in April 2006 and ‘The Hype’ was voted number 1 on the
Pulse Rated Charts in May 2006 for four months, demonstrating his
success as an independent artist so far.
